That argument is why Sundanese people cannot marry Javanese people, and vice versa. Although it is a myth that is not necessarily true.

The fact is that not a few Javanese men married Sundanese women and their relationship has lasted to this day. It turned out that little was revealed about the reason for the ban on Javanese people marrying Sundanese people, supposedly due to past grudges.

Some people think that the reason why Javanese cannot marry Sundanese comes from past experiences. The myth is said to be due to the tragedy of the Bubat War, which occurred around 1357 AD or the 14th century.

The story goes that the King of the Majapahit Kingdom, Hayam Wuruk wanted to marry Queen Dyah Pitaloka Citraresmi, the daughter of Prabu Linggabuana from the Kingdom of Galuh (Sunda). Hayam Wuruk fell in love with Dyah Pitaloka, because of a painting by Sungging Prabangkara.

However, Mahapatih Gajah Mada reminded King Hayam Wuruk that if Dyah Pitaloka still had a blood relationship with him, he could not marry. It's just that Hayam Wuruk insisted on marrying Dyah Pitaloka.
