Ships fire at Jongor Port, Tegal Central Java Indonesia--

RADAR TEGAL - A number of ships that docked at Jongor Tegalsari port, West Tegal District, Tegal City caught fire, Monday 14 August 2023 around 19.00 WIB. The cause of the fire is not yet known for sure, which is currently being handled by joint officers. 

One of Abdul Fatah's eyewitnesses said that at that time, he was in the vicinity of the incident. At that time, he saw a flame from one of the boats leaning near the KUD Karya Mina Fishermen's Fuel Filling Station.

"I see the fire has started to grow from one of the ships leaning," he said. 

The wind was strong enough to make the fire quickly spread to other ships. Until the fire is difficult to extinguish. 

To deal with the incident, a number of firefighting fleets from the City of Tegal and its surroundings were deployed. In fact, the Tegal City Police AWS was also deployed to put out the fire. 

Tegal City Police Chief AKBP Jaka Wahyudi revealed, from the results of data collection by officers at the incident location, at least around 52 ships were also burnt. Meanwhile, the amount of loss cannot be stated, but from an estimate it could reach billions of rupiah.
